Administrator II.

III, if applicable, and indirect supervision of unit personnel assigned to
recreation.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Plans, develops, coordinates, and implements
post-secondary, recreation, andapprenticeship programs.
2. Determines eligibility of offender applicants
for continuing education programs.
3. Indirectly supervises and provides technical
assistance to unit personnel assigned to recreation in coordination with the
Warden.
4. Coordinates the initial organization of unit
level apprenticeship programs with Industrial Supervisors and related training
instructors.
5. Approves the accuracy of college and
university purchase vouchers for payment.
6. Assists in the preparation of regional
recreation program budget requests and program guidelines, procedures,
policies, and regulations.
7. Coordinates the purchase of college textbooks.
8. Prepares and submits all recreation and
television communication equipment and supply orders.
9. Supervises the distribution of college
textbooks and equipment.
10. Prepares data for monthly and semester
statistical reports for post-secondary, recreation, and apprenticeship programs
as assigned.
11. Coordinates training of new employees and
provides orientation and in-service training for all contracted college and
apprenticeship personnel as required.
12. Coordinates the retention of recreation
reports and the training of unit personnel assigned to recreation and craft
shop programs.
13. Assists with the selection, administration,
monitoring, and interpretation of post-secondary education evaluation
instruments.
14. Assists with the auditing and reviewing of
post-secondary education and unit recreation programs for effectiveness.
15. Participates in Windham School District
personnel selection system.
16. Performs duties in a professional
manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment.
17. Performs all duties in a professional,
ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the SBEC Code of Ethics and
Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s
degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by
the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with a major in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or Education is
required. Three years of full-time,
wage-earning administrative experience to include supervision and evaluation of
employees in an Education or Recreation Program or direct supervision and
oversight of an Education or Recreation Program.
